Black Pearls
The Tuamoto archipelago, famous for black pearls, consists of 76 idyllic islands and coral atolls sprinkled east to west across the Pacific Ocean between the Society Islands and the Marquesas. In contrast to the mountainous landfalls of those two destinations, the remote Tuamoto islets rise only fractionally above sea level.
